Project designed for LARS Brillen (work im progress)

As part of a design brief for the Swiss eyewear brand LARS Brillen, I created an adaptable lens protector — a lightweight and clever object aligned with the brand’s identity: minimalism, comfort, and smart design. The case attaches directly to LARS' patented hinge system using two elastic loops. Instead of enclosing the entire frame, it focuses on protecting the lenses, which are the most delicate part of the glasses. At the center, an accordion-style joint allows the protector to expand or contract, adapting to various frame widths across the LARS collection — while keeping the rest of the structure unchanged.

This project emphasizes modularity, interaction, and subtle engineering, while staying within the constraints of 3D printing and a defined production budget. It offers a functional and meaningful give-away that reflects the essence of LARS Brillen and builds a tangible connection with their optical partners.
